Real-time motion management for robotic treatment couch in proton therapy system

In proton therapy, robotic couch was used for patient positioning to achieve high precision in cancer treatment. However, no studies have focused on the real-time motion management system (MMS) couch. This study develop MMS and verify its feasibility. A set up with a couch, an NDI Vega optical tracking system, Special Measurement Tool (SMT) developed software. Leica laser tracker adopted accuracy of tests this study. The stability SMT were verified guarantee reliability results. coordinate transformation unify measurement. 83 points inside treatment volume applied MMS, comparison results measured by tracker. synchronism Patient Positioning System (PPS) based reciprocating along axis z tested obtain maximum time delay. Trajectory performed different payloads top. series conducted demonstrated feasibility potential applications capturing monitoring.
